The SS1 (“Senapan Serbu” - eng=“Assault Rifle”) came into service with the Indonesian Armed Forces in 1991, and is based on the FN FNC-80 but modifiied in order to meet ergonomic and tropical environment needs. Will be replaced by the SS-2.
